Gmail and Google Drive Down ?

Today, Google is experiencing global outage issues whereby their products, Gmail and Google Drive are reportedly facing an outage, with users from different countries such as US, Australia, North America, and Asia.

Downdetector.com, a website that tracks such glitches, recorded that the highest report made was over 3,528 reports.

In the a statement from G Suite Status board at 10:53 AM, Google said “We’re investigating reports of an issue with Gmail. We will provide more information shortly. Google’s statement did not disclose about what is the main cause of this problems but they said the affected users are able to access Gmail, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behaviour.

According to Google, “Users will have issues accessing or attaching files in various products, this includes Gmail and Drive”. The problems with Gmail including “attaching or accessing attachments, as well as accessing and saving draft emails and sending emails”. Google also mention that there were issues with Google Drive Uploading and downloading of files.

At 2.13PM, Google confirm that the problem with Gmail was resolved. “We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support.” It said. “Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better.”
